Visiting Mema
Recently Mema fell resulting in a hip replacement which put her in a rehab center for 5 weeks. To cheer her up, Avery Kate and I would visit her every other day or so; one of Avery's favorite things we did this summer was visiting Mema and walking the halls with her. Every day she'd say, "We go see Mema today?" Love their love for each other!

Where's Daddy?
One of her new favorite tricks is to pull out this ladder from behind the dryer, open it up, step up to the top, open the small window, and say, "Where's Daddy?"

Swimming with Friends
What a fun day! We spent the morning at DiDi's house swimming with Addy and Simone, a friend from school. Simone's Mommy and I work at Oakridge together and AK and Simone, or Mone as AK calls her, are classmates at Trinity.

First Pedicure
Shelley and I decided it was time to take the girls to get their first pedicures. How perfectly cute were the kid chairs they got to sit in? Ella went first and Avery Kate was very interested in the process... until... it was her turn. She let the lady paint a few of her toenails, but wouldn't let her finish. She prefers when Daddy paints them at home.

A Visit to Grandmother's House We Go
My heart melts every time I watch these two together. Vivid childhood memories flood my mind and I love how close the two of them have become. Childhood memories like Mema taking me to Whataburger every day after school (how I'm not 500 pounds is a mystery to me), laughing until our stomachs hurt, watching "I Love Lucy" all day long, and one of my favorite memories- the time we were reading one of my dreaded summer reading novels in the pool at her apartment in which we managed to drop the book into the pool. Mema swears she doesn't remember this next part, but I can assure it happened and it was her idea! To dry the book, Mema said, "Stick it in the oven real quick." So, being the good little granddaughter, I obliged. Flames. The book caught on fire. I can only hope and pray that Avery creates memories such as these with all of her grandparents!
