Our first sponge bath!

For this OCD Daddy, this was one of his favorite things about coming home... Time to get this baby clean, or so we thought. Avery was not too excited about being naked and cold so I guess to make sure we knew that, she decided to spit up (a lot), poop AND pee during bath time! Just when we thought she was clean, we had to start all over again!

Time for the entire family to meet!

Before heading to the hospital to be induced, we read on the internet to bring home a blanket that the baby was wrapped in so the dogs can get use to her smell. Zoey and Macy stayed with DiDi (David's Mom) and Pops (David's Dad) while we were in the hospital. Auntie Kiki (David's sister) brought home the blanket for the dogs to smell and they went crazy! Pops even said that Zoey was already protective over the blanket and did not want any other dogs near it. When we made it home, Uncle Andrew and Auntie Sam had taken the dogs to have baths and of course, had pink bows put in their hair to meet the new addition. Their first meeting could not have gone better! Zoey would literally lick her all day if I let her and Macy is very protective over her. They love to sit by me while I feed her and hate when she cries.

Time to go home!

Around 4 pm on Monday, May 12, it was time to take our little girl home! At one point, David and I looked at each other with the exact same thought... "They're really going to let the two of us take her home?!" To make matters more interesting, it was pouring down rain. Daddy went to get the car and somehow managed to literally pull right up to the door under the cover so Avery and I could get into the car without getting wet. As soon as Miss Avery went into her car seat for the first time, she decided to add some more water to the rain storm and boy did she cry! Mom almost cried too! Daddy carefully drove us home and I sat in the back holding her hand the entire way home. She stopped crying eventually and fell fast asleep!
