Avery Kate Read

On May 10, 2014, at 1:12 p.m., David and I welcomed a beautiful, healthy girl. Avery Kate weighed 6 pounds 13 ounces and measured 18.5 inches long. Currently, Avery loves her Mamaroo, eating and sleeping... During the day at least. At night, she likes to give Mommy and Daddy a run for their money and enjoys staying awake between midnight and 4 a.m. usually. She loves to cuddle and coo. Zoey and Macy, our long-haired dachshunds, would lick her all day if we would let them! They love sitting next to me while I feed her and just stare at her. In less than 2 weeks, Avery has changed our lives for the better and has had more visitors than you could imagine including skype sessions with our Jamaican family. David and I are so grateful for all of our family members and friends who have sent sweet notes, visited with us and Avery, made us dinner, ran errands for us, cleaned our house and everything else in between. We are especially thankful for Mimi (my mom) and DiDi (David's mom) who stayed with us the first few nights. Because of them, Mommy was only in tears once! I'd say that is an accomplishment!
